Pronouns: She/They
As your counselor my goal is to serve as your guide while you navigate through life's transitions. Using a social justice lens I will help guide you unpack this capitalist, imperialist world’s barriers that hinder you from reaching your potential. I tailor treatment to meet your needs and will work collaboratively with you to dismantle these messages to move forward.
I have experience working with clients from all backgrounds and experiences and I specialize in working with people of richly diverse racial and ethnic heritage, people along the expansive gender and sexual spectrum, with all varied abilities. I view neurodiversity as a strength and not a pathology as explained by Dr Chris Walker in her Neuroqueer Theory.
I have experience helping heal the trauma experienced by refugees, asylees, and immigrants and continue doing so through pro bono work with Intercultural Counseling Connection. I have also provided therapeutic services to children who experienced traumatic and sexual abuse with an emphasis on resilience and a strength based approach.
I have specialized training in helping support blended and reconstituted families and individuals experiencing the disenfranchised grief of childlessness, as well as those going through the trauma of the profit making Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) industry.
I am a Board Approved Licensed Clinical Supervisor in the State of Maryland, providing clinical supervision for interns and those with provisional license working toward advanced licensure.
I am the Director of Clinical Services at the Strive for Wellness Clinic an early intervention clinic for youth and young adults at risk to develop psychosis.
I am a PhD candidate in Public Policy at the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a focus in health policy, researching the impact enforcement of Federal and State Mental Health Parity Laws plays on insurance practices and access to care. For that reason I believe that providing access to behavioral health care within insurance is paramount to dismantling the individualistic cisheternormative white-anglo profit making capitalist system, while also advocating for a systemic policy change.
